Gone Sailing – Father’s Day Animated eCard

Our newest card, “Gone Sailing”, created with Father’s Day in mind, is a rich journey illustrated in watercolor for the sailing enthusiast as well as anyone who enjoys summer, the big open seas, or just relaxing on a beach with a cold drink. It can be used for many other occasions, such as birthdays, summer greetings, anniversaries, well you get the point – almost anything.

Gone Sailing

We have a number of other suitable cards for Father’s Day, here are just a few to get you started:

As I write this I am myself about to take off for a short journey, to the mountains instead of the sea, to photograph a very different kind of body of water – a high altitude meteor lake. I hope to get back to writing about it in my blog as soon as I get back to celebrate Father’s Day at the Tu household. In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day however you decide to celebrate those great men in your life.

Happy Father’s Day!

Enjoy your Day, A New Mother’s Day eCard

I have just put the finishing touches on my latest card, created with Mother’s Day in mind. Being a mother of two active boys, I know that sometimes it is hard to find a moment to just put your feet up and enjoy the view, so my inspiration for the card was my very own “castle in the sky” place that makes for the perfect quick escape.

Cats on the other hand seem to have the right idea, they won’t be hurried or distracted by the demands of motherhood or anything else for that matter – even a whole litter of kittens! Pots of fragrant lavender, terracotta rooftops and rolling green hills – I know if I could be there right now, that is where I would want to be …

Enjoy and have a great Mother’s Day!

Free eCard for Earth Day – Blue Planet

We have added a new card, “Blue Planet”, to our selection just in time for Earth Day April 22nd. It features a happy and up-tempo Brazilian chorinho musical piece by Anne Lenoir, Carlos Oliveira and Alex Calatahud, who have graciously offered their music for this card. If you are not familiar with this style of music, the card includes some information about it and the musicians.

Inspired by the music and the diversity of Brazilian flora and fauna, I set about creating a card that would inspire us to take a little better care of our planet – for our own sake if for no other reasons. The wildlife in the card, especially our intelligent counterparts below water, the dolphins, have an important message to deliver. And although intended for Earth Day, I think it is also ideally suited for cheering anyone up or saying congratulations.

Joining last year’s card, “Roof of the World”, this one is this year’s card that is available free of charge for a good cause. So please join us in celebrating our blue planet and Earth Day on April 22nd along with billions around the world.

Easter & Spring eCard, Hyacinths & Snow Drops

We recently added a new card for Easter and Spring called “Hyacinths & Snow Drops”, the little messengers of spring, Easter and the hope that spring has always symbolized to me – all served up in a rather unusual fashion in this card.

Or pick from some of the other cards we offer on the site for Easter and Spring, including the very popular card “Enchanted” featuring hand painted tulips or “Gift’s of Spring” which has also been a huge hit so far!

St. Patrick’s Day eCard

We have added a new card called “Tree of Life” for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th). It can also be used for many other occasions as well0. It features a pair of grey partridges, which are highly endangered in Ireland, tying a silver love knot to a heartwarming Irish tune.

Tree of Life

Wishing you a happy St. Paddy’s Day filled with love and luck!

New Birthday Day eCard

I really enjoyed working on the latest birthday ecard that has been added to the site, “Le Patisserie”. The slightly over the top characters make a comical compliment to a very visually tempting card that is perfect for birthdays, but also suited for other occasions:

La Patisserie

If you are anything like me and your heart skips a beat when you enter a pastry shop, then you will love this card even if the cake is for someone else. Besides virtual whipped cream has no calories at all, so go ahead and indulge!

In addition I am working on the release of a card for St.Patrick’s day, which should be out very soon!

Valentine Day eCards

Like most women I confess I love flowers – so much so I would have a hard time picking a favorite flower. When I was about six I ‘surprised’ my grandmother with a sand cake I had decorated with loads and loads of flowers I picked from her garden. It is clear from the photograph taken on that occasion that she had to try really hard to smile although I couldn’t tell then. So it is no surprise that the flowers steal the show in my two newest cards both intended for Valentine’s Day, although they are suitable for many other occasions as well.

The first card, “Enchanted”, is a mixed media project featuring hand painted tulips set against a collage background. It can be used for anyone to send a Valentines greeting but also for all other general occasions.

Enchanted

Mandarin Ducks share the stage with the colorful display of wisteria in full bloom in the second card, which has a slightly humorous twist to it. Although it is intended for Valentines it is also suitable for many other occasions.

New Year Cards for 2009

For me New Year is really about renewal, renewal that is part of a cycle of the year and of life. Without this hope, the long dark winters would have seemed almost unsurvivable to my ancestors in Denmark, who would worship in various ways to hope that the sun would once again return. And so despite much disheartening news affecting all of us around the world, New Year’s is a time to celebrate hope above all I believe. With this in mind, I was inspired to create a card that sends this message, both through visual beauty and a message to cast your gaze up at the stars to see Sirius, brightest star, in its culmination on New Year’s Eve.

New Year Invitation eCards

We have added a new card in two versions called “Black Tie” and “Cocktail Dress” to our site for the upcoming New Year’s celebration as well as any festive occasion. The card has a real vintage feel to it including a nice big band music piece. We made two versions of the card so that it would be suitable for both women and men to send. If you are planning an upcoming bash for the holidays or New Year, this card would make a nice way to send the invitation.

We are still working on one more New Year card and will let you know as soon as we add it to the site.

New Christmas eCard – Jingle Bells

We have added another new card called “Jingle Bells” featuring a horse drawn sled dashing through a winter wonderland – all handpainted in watercolor in great detail – a classical card centered around the joy of preparing for the holidays with your loved ones.

Jingle Bells

But before Tim and I can get around to the family preparations with the boys, we still have a bit of work to do to bring you several more cards for your New Year celebrations.

Merry Christmas!
