Sometimes it is hard to find just the right words to express yourself. Luckily flowers tend to speak volumes – and occasionally they also sing as you will see in our newest ecard “Flower A Capella”.

This vibrant and happy card is perfect for sending to your mother as well as all the wonderful moms you know on Mother’s Day. And even after Mother’s Day has passed, I can think of many other occasions I would send this card for.

For Mother’s Day we have added a new ecard. You are invited into a “Secret Garden” – also the title of the card – where flowers bloom all year long and breakfast is served in bed.

My initial inspiration for this card where the Dutch flower painters of the 17th century and their vibrant depictions of extravagant floral arrangements. But the feel is very much contemporary and my emphasis was on creating a relaxing, early morning mood where rays of sunshine makes everything look beautiful.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!

We have added two newecards to our site created with Mother’s Day in mind, but both cards are also suitable for other occasions such as birthdays and general greetings.

The first card is titled “Cherubs” and features Raphael’s famous cherubs deep in thought until they find a special way to send a message. We thought all mothers could use a few additional angels in their life from time to time, not to mention Peonies and Snowball Virburnum painted in lovely detail. And yes, it is almost ridiculously sweet. Sweet with subtle humor that makes it okay to send a card with little adorable cherubs. For almost any occasion.

The second ecard titled “Picnic” is a variation on the card “Al Fresco” adapted for Mother’s Day, birthdays and other occasions. As spring brings so much new life and renewal, this card celebrates the day with a picnic on the river bank while the swans and ducks are parading their little families.

I have just put the finishing touches on my latest card, created with Mother’s Day in mind. Being a mother of two active boys, I know that sometimes it is hard to find a moment to just put your feet up and enjoy the view, so my inspiration for the card was my very own “castle in the sky” place that makes for the perfect quick escape.

Cats on the other hand seem to have the right idea, they won’t be hurried or distracted by the demands of motherhood or anything else for that matter – even a whole litter of kittens! Pots of fragrant lavender, terracotta rooftops and rolling green hills – I know if I could be there right now, that is where I would want to be …

Just in time for Mother’s Day, we have added another card to our selection called “Under the Moon”.

The card features moon bear cubs “Bingo” & “Happy”, born in captivity at Taiwan’s Low Altitude Research Station where their mother was brought after being found injured in the wild. My friends at the Station asked if I could animate the cubs based on the footage they had made since the birth of the cubs; this card is the result of this collaboration.

It is difficult to convey the breathtaking beauty of the forest and mountains where these bears live, so I had to challenge myself artistically to create an inspired backdrop. Let me know what you think!

Even though every day should be Mother’s Day in my humble opinion, May 13th is the day we choose to celebrate mothers around the world. Remember to send an ecard to all the special women in your life who are mothers. Even if you have something special planned for your own mother, an extra ecard will be sure to delight.
